The newest Otep CD doesn't fail to impress. I'm seriously running out of things to say about this band, just look at the descriptions under the
other albums! The limited edition of this album is worth the extra couple dollars, it comes in a fat slipcase that holds the double disc digipak
(CD+DVD) and an absolutely stunning book which contains the lyrics, some poetry, and some amazing full color artwork. I can't scan it
because I dont want to bend the pages back!
The DVD contains track by track explanation by Otep of the lyrics and an interview about the album.
My favorite tracks so far are Rise Rebel Resist, Smash The Control Machine, Numb & Dumb, Run For Cover, Ur A Wmn Now, and Serv Asat.

I was not the biggest fan of House Of Secrets but Ascension is better than anything they've ever done, most of the
songs are upbeat and angry - when you're angry at the world, this is your soundtrack!
Hard to pick favorite tracks on this disc they're all so good..I know thats cliché but this is one of my favorite
records ever. If I had to pick a few favorites: Ghostflowers, Noose And Nail, and Crooked Spoons.
* Tracks 14-16 available only on Japanese edition

Otep got a new guitarist and new drummer for this record, but Otep and Evil J are still running the show.
The reason the CD looks blurry and shit is because it was done in 3D. The jewel case comes in red and blue pieces
and if you hold them right the pictures on the front and inside jump out at you.

Here it is, the LOOOOONG awaited full CD debut from Otep. It's fucking awesome.
Otep's lyrics and vocals are dumbfounding and their music is very emotional.
My favorite tracks from this disc are Blood Pigs, Sacrilege, Filthee, and Jonestown Tea.
Jonestown Tea is in my opinion the angriest and most emotional song ever written, at least that I have heard.
Otep has said that it was extremely difficult for her to record it and has never played it live. Once you hear it,
you'll understand why.

This band almost defies description. They're kind of thrash, kind of death, kind of nu-metal.
Their real talent lies in their vocalist. She can sing like a bird or growl like Cannibal Corpse...when I
show this CD to most people, they think the band has two vocalists. Also pay close attention to their
drummer...I saw him live and the guy can fuckin wail like no one's business.
Best tracks on this CD are Fillthee & T.R.I.C.
