It might be hypocritical of me to post this disc and then rip on it, but what the fuck is up with Dave? Megadeth have always had political songs and lyrics, but apparently that's all they're about now. This cd might be better for those of you who don't speak english, because the music is still decent. |

This was a greatest hits release that Megadeth released as they were contractually obligated to release one more record before getting out of their contract with Capitol Records. They weren't happy about being stuck to their contract, so they just put two (at the time) new tracks with a bunch of greatest hits and hence the name of the album.
Lyrics only for Kill The King here because it is the only song exclusive to this album; for the others are available on their original releases. |

This album, much like Metallica's Load, marked a major departure in sound and style for Megadeth. Many long time fans rejected it because it wasn't as fast or as hard, but also like Load, much of the tracks are actually quite good if you aren't expecting a carbon copy of Rust In Peace. Except for Crush 'Em. That track is total garbage and if you don't think so, well you're just wrong. |

† "These Boots" was track 4 on the original release, but was later deleted due to complaints from the original songwriter who didn't like Dave's version. In the 2002 reissue, a bleeped version was included as track 8, and the demos were tracks 9-11. In order for me to include all tracks, the demos are reordered as 10-12 here. |
