This album has actually become my favorite of Metallica's, which is really saying something considering the size of their catalog. Death Magnetic and Hardwired are the follow-ups to And Justice For All that I always wanted! Since the Rick Rubin resurrection, everything they've done has gotten better and better, I can't wait for the next one. Disc 3 Live tracks #5-13 recorded 4/16/2016 at Rasputin Records in Berkeley. Disc 3 Live track #14 recorded 8/20/2016 at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, MN. |

These four tracks were recorded at the same time as Death Magnetic and then premiered one at a time during each of Metallica's special 30th Anniversary Fillmore shows in 2011 before being subsequently released as an EP. Despite being "throw away" tracks the quality in my opinion is as high as or higher than Death Magnetic. Rebel Of Babylon is probably my favorite original Metallica song. These four songs were originally released digitally to fan club members one at a time after each of the four Fillmore shows. Each Fillmore show had a color theme - green, yellow, silver, and red. A new song was released each night and the cover image had a corresponding color. The custom cover here with all four covers is a mashup of those four colored covers. Since Metallica no longer sells the physical CD in their store but they do still sell digital, I'm linking the digital purchase link in addition to the CD purchase from Amazon in case someone prefers to buy from the band like I do. |

Death Magnetic is more of a return to much of what Metallica was before Load or even the self titled album. Rick Rubin came in as producer and really produced one hell of an album. The sound has been criticized for clipping, which the band says was intentional, but the music is top notch. There's not one bad track on this album. |

The album art was originally supposed to be released in four colors - red/orange, gold, blue, and yellow/green. Shortly before release they scrapped the idea and only released the one color. A while after release the manufacturer made a mistake and accidentally released a few copies of the yellow version that were supposed to have been destroyed. The yellow scans are from one of these rare copies I got my hands on! The blue and gold versions of the covers were never sold, so the blue cover art I have was custom made. This is pretty much widely considered to be Metallica's weakest album musically (at least if you don't count Lulu). There are actually some really awesome riffs and sections in most of the songs, but it's almost as if there was just no production or editing. The album could have been so much better if most of the tracks were about 40% shorter and Lars wasn't experimenting with trash can drum sounds. It's like they took the rough cut working edition and just released it, which is so unlike Metallica. But credit that to the very weird place they were in mentally at the time. |

These are the singles that weren't originally sold in the US. They're released in differeing versions in other countries with bonus tracks so people will buy em. All of these tracks were played by Metallica for the Ramones tribute, and they are, of course, all Ramones covers. Tracks 1-4 are available on various European releases, All 5 together are only available on the Japanese EP version. Links to purchase are for the version with tracks 1-4 from Amazon and the 5 track EP from other users on discogs. |

This is a two disc set. The first CD contains previously unreleased covers new on this album, the second disc contains all the covers and B-Sides released before this album all packed into one disc. This really pissed off some of the hardcore collectors that paid hundreds of dollars to get their hands on rare tracks, only to see them be re-released to the masses. A few years later the internet happened and then everyone had everything anyway. Since Metallica has re-released it, I have also included purchase links for the original "Garage Days Re-Revisited" which includes what became the first 5 tracks of disc two of Garage Inc! |

This is a compilation from two live shows Metallica performed in Berkeley, California in 1999 with the late conductor Michael Kamen and the San Francisco Symphony. Such a team-up was pretty unheard of at the time but several acts have copied since. Some of the tracks like Ktulu and Outlaw I think are actually better than the originals. Lyrics only included here for the two symphony exclusive songs; the rest are available on their original releases. |

This CD was actually recorded at the same time as "Load", but Metallica chose to split them up unto 2 separate releases instead of doing a double disc, so fans could have something once a year instead of once every 5 years. My favs on this disc are Fuel, Unforgiven II, Prince Charming, Attitude, and Fixxxer. |

Metallica waited 5 years to release this disc, and drastically changed their sound in the process. A lot of old hardcore fans said they "sold out" at this point..I don't agree with that. Though the sound on this and Reload is much different, I still love it. Anyway, my favorites on this disc are Mama Said, The Thorn Within, Ronnie, and The Outlaw Torn. (Outlaw torn is 1 min shorter on original album version, Metallica went over the 80:00 limit for compact discs and had to shorten the song to fit everything on 1 disc. The 10:48 full version can be found as the B side to one of the Hero Of The Day singles listed as the "unencumbered by manufacturing restrictions version".) |

One of the best selling albums of all time. I think Enter Sandman may have now become this generations song-most-played-by-customers-in-a-guitar-store, like Stairway To Heaven or Smoke On The Water. It's hard to pick favorites on such an all-time great like this disc, but lately the songs I play the most are Holier Than Thou, Don't Tread On Me, Through The Never, The God That Failed, and The Struggle Within. |

This is perhaps my favorite album of all time, of any band. It's the very first rock/metal album I ever wanted or ever bought. "One" is the first metal song I ever heard (on Beavis and Butthead) and what switched me from listening to pop/rap to rock/metal. |

Metallica set a record for speed recording with this disc, and it actually turned out to be one of the best. Best tracks on this record are Fight Fire With Fire, Fade To Black, Trapped Under Ice, and The Call Of Ktulu. |

This is a collection of demos recorded before Metallica's first official album "Kill Em All". "The Mechanix" is the music from "The Four Horsemen" with different lyrics. "Jump In The Fire" also has different lyrics. This demo was re-released in April 2015 on Record Store Day on cassette. The band had said a compact disc version would follow in the summer, but so far it hasn't seen the light of day. All art here is from the reissued cassette, which looks almost identical to the original. |

This is a truly rare and unique item. The track titles above are are correct; they're working titles, some songs were spelled differently or named differently altogether. Some songs have completely different lyrics. Definitely one to check out if you can ever find it on eBAY. |

The Loooooooooooong awaited Fan Can 5. Probably the most anticipated Metallica disc ever released, and just as hard to obtain. Only clubbers were eligible to buy and that's only if they are one of 5000 that won a lottery, which only gave them the opportunity to buy it! The disc includes selections from the famous Fillmore shows chosen by club members. I think the selections are not nearly as good as they could be considering what was not put on this disc, but it's still great to have. |

Fan Can 6 was a video produced from five amazing sold out shows in Copenhagen, Denmark. Unlike the previous fan cans there is no audio CD for this release, it was DVD/BluRay only. Normally I dont include videos, but since I have the rest of the fan cans and this is such a great show, I thought it worth including. I've also ripped the audio from the blu ray for my own listening on the go. This includes rare plays of Trapped Under Ice and Dyers Eve, the premiere of Suicide And Redemption, and the only time to date that Metallica have actually played live the version of The Ecstasy Of Gold that was included on the "We All Love Ennio Morricone" compilation. The latter is easily my favorite track on this release, I wish they would do a tour where they just started the show playing it instead of having the tape play. |
